Mrs. Sandy Arango

We are so thankful to have Sandy as our chef here at ACA! To introduce her to our community, we asked her some questions about her previous experience and time at ACA!
Q- When did you get involved in culinary activities and work?
A- I started when I was very young. I began my time in food service as a hostess and waitress. Additionally, I worked in our family restaurant and now have over 30 years of experience working in the business!
Q- What’s one of the biggest blessings of working at ACA?
A- One of the biggest blessings was being able to work in an environment to bless the children as we offer them healthy, good options. The students start to recognize how the food they eat makes a difference. They thank us for providing the kind of food we serve. We are able to pray before we serve the food, help the children decide to try new food, and fellowship with the volunteers. The blessings always come back to us through the children.
Q- What’s one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced while here at ACA?
A- Putting the food program together and picking up from where Chef Tina left off was a challenge. A challenge is not having enough people to help put food together on time! We always need volunteers to help put the meals together.
“It is a blessing to be in this environment. I have worked outside of ACA and had my own business. In this environment, there is such beautiful grace and fellowship here. We come together in a safe environment, and the students trust us. As a school, we can be God-centered and accountable to Him.”
